As a Guatemala Wedding Photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing love stories in some of the most breathtaking locations our country has to offer. But George and Stephania’s wedding at La Casa de la Ruina Santa Rosa in Antigua Guatemala was something truly unforgettable.
Nestled in the heart of Antigua, this unique venue—a colonial church ruin turned magical event space—set the tone for a wedding that beautifully blended two rich cultures: Palestinian and Guatemalan. The ceremony took place under the high arches and weathered stone of the ancient church ruins, with natural light pouring in through open ceilings, casting an ethereal glow on the couple as they exchanged vows. Following the ceremony, the celebration moved into the garden of the ruins. Here, surrounded by crumbling stone walls and vibrant greenery, guests were treated to an explosion of color, music, and joy. Palestinian belly dancers ignited the night with hypnotic performances, seamlessly blending into a soundtrack that mixed traditional Palestinian dance music with Latin rhythms. The result was a joyous fusion—laughter, swirling skirts, clapping hands, and a dance floor that never stopped moving.
From the embroidered Palestinian dresses to the warm Guatemalan hospitality, every detail of this wedding was a reflection of George and Stephania’s heritage and love. It wasn’t just a wedding; it was a celebration of identity, history, and the beauty of two worlds coming together.
